Reform der Notfallversorgung: Altersmediziner fordern mehr geriatrische Expertise in den Zentralen Notaufnahmen

Ab Januar 2025 soll bundesweit die Notfallversorgung reformiert werden, um Patientenströme besser zu steuern und Überlastungen insbesondere in den Kliniken zu vermeiden. Rund ein Viertel aller Patientinnen und Patienten in den klinischen Notfallaufnahmen sind Studien zufolge über 70 Jahre alt. Bei dieser Zielgruppe spielen Multimorbidität, untypische Symptome und auch soziale Probleme häufig eine Rolle. Dennoch wird diese Patientengruppe im jüngsten Eckpunktepapier des Bundesgesundheitsministeriums zur Notfallreform vom 16. Januar nicht einmal explizit erwähnt.
